Print and digital winter math activities and centers.

Brr! The winter air, cold, and snow are here and students will love practicing their math skills this winter with these fun, hands on printable stations and engaging digital activities and centers! Each of these winter math activities and centers come in print format and digital format!

The printable winter math activities and centers are perfect to use in the classroom during math centers, small groups, or independent practice. All printable activities come with a recording sheet. I love having students complete a recording sheet because it allows me to review their work when I am unable to meet with them.

The digital winter math activities and centers are great to use for distance or virtual learning and in the classroom! Students can use their iPad, Chromebooks, computers, etc. to access the digital stations. The digital activities and stations are available through Google Slides. The winter math activities and centers can easily be assigned through Google Classroom or accessed via the link provided. I love using these winter math digital stations because they are so engaging! Students drag and drop their answers on each Google Slide.

Preparing Winter Math Activities and Centers

Rather using the printable activities or digital activities, they are very easy to prepare. Although nothing beats assigning digital activities! A couple clicks and students are interacting and engaged! Google Classroom makes it very easy to assign the activities to students. I make a copy for each student so all my students are not dragging and dropping on the same slide. :)

The printable activities are super simple too! I simply print the activities, laminated, cut, and store! I always love to laminate my activities and centers because that way I can use them year after year. Last I print the recording pages and place in separate tubs.

Here are six winter math activities and centers my students love using!

Winter Math Activity #1 - Penguin Snowball Match

These penguins are having a dance party on ice! This is a great winter math activity to practice subtraction facts. Students match the subtraction snowballs to the penguin with the correct answer. Subtractions facts from 15 are covered.

Winter Math Activity #2 - Snowmen Pizza Addition

Have you ever read Snowmen at Work? It is part of the Snowmen at Night series. I always enjoy reading these books during the winter months. The inspiration behind this fun winter math activity came from that book. Each pizza has an addition equation. The snowmen each have an answer on them. Students match the pizza addition equation to the snowman with the correct answer.

Each mitten has a number on it and each snowball has a set of base ten blocks. Students will look at each snowball and count up the number. Then students match the colorful mittens to the snowball with the correct set of base ten blocks.

The numbers in the top left corner indicate what set students are working on. Students order the cups of hot cocoa from least to greatest. Then they can write their answer on the recording page. Winter Math Activity #6 - Snowmen True or False

I love this addition and subtraction winter math activity! Look at those cute snowman toppers! This is usually a student favorite because they think it is hilarious when the addition or subtraction equation is false. They must be thinking, why would that ever be true? Haha It’s like when teachers make a mistake and students burst out laughing.

Students look at each snowball addition equation. If the addition equation is true, they move it to the true snowman. If the addition equation is false, they move it to the false snowman. The digital version and the printable version are very similar!
